Sports Care

When the body is pushed during sports, it is crucial to care for and protect it correctly. At SELECT, you will find a wide selection of sports care products that help you with everything from prevention and recovery to acute injury treatment. Whether you need sports tape, heat cream, cooling products, or support bandages, we offer useful sports care for every athlete.

Prevent Sports Injuries with the Right Sports Care

Prevention is the foundation of a healthy and long-lasting sports career. Before you even step onto the pitch or court, you can make a great effort to minimize the risk of overstrain and acute twists. By integrating the right performance-enhancing and protective products into your regular routine, you create stability and security for your joints and muscles. This can be achieved, for example, using support bandages, tape, braces, etc.

Tape and Bandage for Joint Stabilization

One of the most effective tools for injury prevention is the use of protective bandages and sports tape. If you have previously struggled with weak joints, a precise ankle taping or knee taping can provide the necessary mechanical support. Many athletes search for answers on how to tape an ankle correctly or look for guidance on applying sports tape on knees, as the right technique ensures that the joint is kept within its natural range of motion without restricting freedom of movement.

Depending on your specific needs, different types of tape are available. A rigid, inelastic tape, such as classic white or black sports tape, is ideal for maximum mechanical fixation, including wrist sports tape or tennis elbow tape. If you need deeper stability, Leukotape and Leukotape P are known for their extremely strong adhesive strength, making them particularly well-suited for shoulder strapping, shoulder taping, or securing the patellar tendon for Schlatter's knee taping.

If, on the other hand, you want compression combined with flexibility, an elastic tape like Tensoplast tape or a breathable stretching tape is the perfect choice for an achilles tendon tape or for taping the inside of the knee. For muscle pain and rehabilitation, kinesiology tape can also be used to increase microcirculation in the skin. Whether the goal is a full shoulder strapping, a knee taping, or simply to tape the knee up for training, you can support joints and muscles with professional tape from our large selection of tape & bandages. For maximum mechanical external support, a DonJoy knee brace or similar rigid braces can also be considered in consultation with a physiotherapist.

Insoles and Heel Supports to Reduce Strain and Improve Foot Posture

In addition to sports tape on the knee or shoulder tape, good prevention starts from the ground up. Your feet absorb massive impacts during running and jumping. With the right insoles & heel supports, you can reduce the overall load on your ankles, shins, and knees. The insoles correct inappropriate foot postures, which prevents injuries all the way up to the hip. Get better comfort and relief with supportive insoles so you can perform optimally in every set.

Pamper the Body with Sports Care for Recovery

Once the whistle has blown and training is over, an important phase begins: recovery. An active lifestyle requires you to give your muscles and tendons the best conditions to rebuild themselves, allowing you to avoid long-term overstrain injuries, uncomfortable stiffness, and remain in peak form.

One of the most pleasant ways to promote recovery is by applying a targeted cream & ointment. A deep-acting heat cream for muscles is an indispensable tool here. Heat significantly increases blood circulation in the treated area, supplying oxygen and vital nutrients to tired muscle fibres. This effectively relieves stiffness in the neck, back, or calf muscles after hard physical activity. Care for sore muscles with heat cream and ointments before going to sleep, or as part of your warm-up on cold days.

If you instead suffer from overheated, tired joints or a budding irritation in the tendons, cooling creams can have a fantastic soothing effect. You can also advantageously combine your ointments with our massage balls for an extended treatment. By rolling your sore spots on a massage ball, you perform effective self-trigger point therapy. This improves flexibility and loosens up stubborn tension knots. Reduce tension with massage balls as a regular part of your weekly recovery.

Explore Sports Care for Acute Injury Treatment

Even when you do everything right to prevent them, accidents can happen in a tight duel or from an unfortunate step. In situations with acute sports injuries such as sprains, impacts, or muscle tears, fast action is paramount. The purpose of acute sports care is to provide immediate pain relief and minimize internal bleeding and swelling, which ultimately shortens your rehabilitation period significantly.

In the acute phase, cold treatment is the absolute most important element. Our cold Ice Pack ensures that the blood vessels constrict. This dampens the inflammatory response and reduces the throbbing pain immediately. Always make sure to keep a stock of effective cooling products in the club or sports bag so you are prepared. Treat acute injuries effectively with ice packs and gel packs as soon as the injury occurs – however, always remember to place a cloth or a bandage between the ice pack and the skin to prevent frostbite.

After the initial cooling, and once the acute swelling has subsided after a few days, a good muscle salve can be used to relieve the subsequent muscle pain and soreness in the surrounding tissue. This may also be the time for a stabilizing ankle strapping, sports tape for knees, elbow sports tape, or offloading the tendons with a wrist tendonitis tape. The same applies to a sore shoulder, where the right application of tape on the shoulder can relieve some of the pressure.

To ensure you never find yourself on the sidelines without the necessary gear, every responsible coach, team leader, or serious athlete should have easy access to first-aid equipment. At SELECT, you will find professional and spacious medical bags that can be packed with everything from plasters and scissors to ice packs, elastic bandages, and various types of sports tape.
