In our own inspection, we have sent goods for testing by the impartial international analysis company Bureau Veritas and had to ascertain that parts of the production of model 88 Kids v24 have too high a content of phthalates in a small part of the glove. It concerns the material in the orange band on the back of the hand. This band is a three-part component. The middle layer has too high a concentration of the phthalate DEHP.
DEHP is harmful to reproduction and endocrine disruptor in humans. The content of DEHP amounts to approx. 0.03 grams of the glove's weight and there is no direct skin contact with the material, as it is encapsulated between two other layers. The impartial international risk assessment firm Bureau Veritas says that contact with DEHP is unlikely when the glove is intact.
When the glove is worn, there will be a risk of contact with DEHP. According to the Bureau Veritas risk assessment, even in the worst case, it is unlikely that children who use the glove will be exposed to doses that could have an effect on fertility.
For the safety of our customers, we are therefore recalling all gloves of this model.
Although DEHP is encapsulated in the material and direct contact with the skin is considered unlikely, we want to be at the forefront of safety.
The recall applies to all 88 Kids v24 in the color purple/white and sizes 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.
The glove has been on the market since November 2023.
If you have a pair of these gloves, please return the gloves to the store where they were purchased and you will be refunded.
If you simply want to get rid of the goods, they should be sent to incineration as combustible waste.
